MONTHLY FITNESS CHALLENGES
PUSH YOURSELF FURTHER
Monthly Fitness challenges are back in 2024! Some challenges will take multiple days, whereas other challenges can be accomplished in just a few minutes. Participants can win individual prizes, and each participant who completes all 10 challenges will be entered into a raffle to win a $250 gift card to Cloud 9 Multisport.
HOW TO REGISTER EACH MONTH | Visit the Wellness Desk and notify the fitness monitor that you want to participate in the challenge. They will add your name to the challenge board and you are ready to go!
HOW TO SHARE YOUR RESULTS | Show the fitness monitor your calories burned and they will add it to your total on the challenge board.
NOVEMBER 18TH - 24TH
Complete this kettlebell workout during the week of 11/18-11/24. Must use either the 18lb or 30lb kettlebell for each exercise. Complete 5 rounds of 10 reps kettlebell squats, 10 reps kettlebell swings, 5 reps single arm kettlebell overhead press, 5 reps single arm snatch, & 10 sit-ups. Completion of this challenge earns one entry to the end-of-year raffle. The fastest time for male and female earn an additional entry. You may do this challenge as many times as you like to beat your fastest time.
DECEMBER 16TH - 22ND
Complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) at either Parkview or Downtown YMCA location. Can be done as walk, jog, or run on the treadmill or around the track. Must be completed during the week of 12/16-12/22. Completion of this challenge earns one entry for end of year raffle, fastest male and female to finish the challenge earn an additional entry!
JANUARY 20TH - 26TH
SQUAT TILL YOU DROP
Complete 50 squats for each weekday during the week of 1/20-1/26 for a total of 250 squats for the entire week. Completion of this challenge earns you one entry for the end-of-the-year giveaway raffle for your chance to win YMCA gifts and a Cloud 9 gift card. Earn an additional entry by completing as many squats as possible in one minute which is recorded by the fitness monitor staff. The most amount of squats done in one minute by a male and female will earn an additional entry.
FEBRUARY 17TH - 23RD
PUSH-UP CHALLENGE
Complete 50 push-ups for each weekday during the week of 2/17-2/23 for a total of 250 push-ups for the entire week. Completion of this challenge earns you one entry for the end-of-the-year giveaway raffle for your chance to win YMCA gifts and a Cloud 9 gift card. Earn an additional entry by completing as many push-ups as possible in one minute which is recorded by the fitness monitor staff. The most amount of push-ups done in one minute by a male and female will earn an additional entry.
MARCH 24TH - 30TH
SIT-UP CHALLENGE
Complete 50 sit-ups for each weekday during the week of 3/24-3/30 for a total of 250 sit-ups for the entire week. Completion of this challenge earns you one entry for the end-of-the-year giveaway raffle for your chance to win YMCA gifts and a Cloud 9 gift card. Earn an additional entry by completing as many push-ups as possible in one minute which is recorded by the fitness monitor staff. The most amount of push-ups done in one minute by a male and female will earn an additional entry.
APRIL 21ST - 27TH
FITBENCH CHALLENGE 2.0
Complete this circuit challenge using the Fitbench or regular free weight bench at either YMCA location during the week of 4/21-4/27 to earn one entry for the end-of-year giveaway raffle for your chance to win YMCA prizes and a Cloud 9 gift card. This is a timed challenge and the fastest male and female to complete the challenge earn an additional entry. Complete 3 total rounds of 10 reps of incline push-ups, 10 reps of box jumps, 10 reps of dumbbell rows, 10 reps of dumbbell snatch (5 per side), and 10 reps of sit-ups on the bench.
MAY 19TH - 25TH
FARM CARRY CHALLENGE
Complete this challenge using the Fitbench upstairs track at the Parkview YMCA location during the week of 5/19-5/25 to earn one entry for the end-of-year giveaway raffle for your chance to win YMCA prizes and a Cloud 9 gift card. Walk as many laps around the upstairs track carrying 40lb dumbbells in each hand (men) & 25lb dumbbells in each hand (women). Laps will only count while participants are holding said weight. The challenge is to complete as many laps around the track during the week of 5/19-5/25. The most amount of laps completed by a male and female will earn an additional entry.
