Monthly Fitness challenges are back in 2024! Some challenges will take multiple days, whereas other challenges can be accomplished in just a few minutes. Participants can win individual prizes, and each participant who completes all 10 challenges will be entered into a raffle to win a $250 gift card to Cloud 9 Multisport.
HOW TO REGISTER EACH MONTH | Visit the Wellness Desk and notify the fitness monitor that you want to participate in the challenge. They will add your name to the challenge board and you are ready to go!
HOW TO SHARE YOUR RESULTS | Show the fitness monitor your calories burned and they will add it to your total on the challenge board.

JULY 22ND - 28TH
Complete 1 mile (2,000 steps) on the stair climber as fast as you can! Every completion will be award 1 entry to the end of year raffle. Fastest male and female timed finishers earn 2 entries. Can be done at any Kosciusko Community YMCA location during the week of 7/22-7/28

AUGUST 19TH - 25TH
Complete this Workout Of The Day: 500 meter row, 20 calorie burn on assault bike, and 25 ft sled push consisting of 4 total rounds to be performed once during the week of 8/19-8/25. Completion of this workout earns one entry for end of year raffle, fastest male and female times to complete challenge earn 2 entries. Must be done at our Parkview Warsaw YMCA location.

SEPTEMBER 16TH - 22ND
Complete this workout using the new Fitbench at the Parkview YMCA. 5 rounds of 10 reps step ups, 10 reps dumbbell bench press, 10 reps reverse flies, 10 rep med ball slams, and 10 reps box jumps. Challenge must be completed during the week of 9/16-/22, completion of the challenge earns one entry to the end-of-year raffle. The fastest time to complete all 5 rounds male and female earns one additional entry. You are allowed to complete the workout as many times to beat your fastest time!

OCTOBER 14TH - 20TH
Complete 10 rounds of 20-yard sled push (up and down the turf counts as 1 round) during the week of 10/14-10/20. The challenge must be done on the Parkview YMCA turf inside the wellness center. The sled must have at least one 45lb plate added weight. Completion of this challenge earns one entry for the end-of-year raffle. The fastest male and female to finish the challenge earn an additional entry!

NOVEMBER 18TH - 24TH
Complete this kettlebell workout during the week of 11/18-11/24. Must use either the 18lb or 30lb kettlebell for each exercise. Complete 5 rounds of 10 reps kettlebell squats, 10 reps kettlebell swings, 5 reps single arm kettlebell overhead press, 5 reps single arm snatch, & 10 sit-ups. Completion of this challenge earns one entry to the end-of-year raffle. The fastest time for male and female earn an additional entry. You may do this challenge as many times as you like to beat your fastest time.

DECEMBER 16TH - 22ND
Complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) at either Parkview or Downtown YMCA location. Can be done as walk, jog, or run on the treadmill or around the track. Must be completed during the week of 12/16-12/22. Completion of this challenge earns one entry for end of year raffle, fastest male and female to finish the challenge earn an additional entry!

18 AND OLDER
This Y Fitness Challenge is a monthly small group training program focused on your best health and best results! During the program, you will work directly with a YMCA Certified Personal Trainer in a small group team environment to exercise, complete challenges, eat right, and learn how to BECOME YOUR BEST SELF! Teams will have no more than 8 total participants. Results will vary for every individual but may include: weight loss, increased strength and cardiovascular health, added support and motivation, increased energy and stamina, stress relief, and community building. Program participants will meet with their dedicated Trainer once a week for 4 weeks, completing a team workout specifically designed to meet their goals. In addition to the trainer-led workout, each participant will receive a weekly trainer-designed workout, meant to be completed together as a group. Throughout the 4 weeks, your Trainer will guide many topics such as strength training, cardiovascular exercise, goal setting and motivation, sleep, and more! This is not just a weekly group workout, it’s a lifestyle change! New to this challenge, we are adding a bit of friendly competition among the different classes. The class that loses the most weight will get a post on Facebook and a YMCA Challenge Completed shirt.

The twin towers consisted of 110 floors or 2071 steps. In memory of the heroic efforts of those on 9/11, we will have our stair climb challenge in the front lobby of our YMCA. Anyone in the community is welcome to register for the event through our Calendly site. There will be buckets to collect donations for the Hoosier Burn Camp.
