Rock Steady Boxing
Knock Out Parkinson Disease!
This program is specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
Rock Steady Boxing is a safe, non-contact workout inspired by boxing, specifically designed to help manage Parkinson’s symptoms. Through targeted exercises, the program works to slow symptom progression, improve mobility, and enhance everyday abilities—empowering participants to maintain independence and live life to the fullest.
This innovative, Indianapolis-based program has proven to be a highly effective form of physical exercise for individuals with Parkinson’s. Each 75-minute class incorporates a variety of fitness activities, including focus mitts, heavy bags, speed bags, jump rope, core work, calisthenics, and circuit weight training. No boxing experience is required—just a commitment to improving your health and quality of life.
Participants are encouraged to attend at least two classes per week, with the option to join all three for maximum benefit. If you plan to attend every class, please register for both the AM and PM sessions to ensure accurate attendance records.
Rock Steady Boxing is more than a workout; it’s a community and a lifeline for those navigating Parkinson’s. Join us and take the fight to Parkinson’s!
Participants must first register online and then attend an assessment class. Assessment classes are held at 12:30 PM on Mondays in Program Room 1 at the Parkview YMCA and at 5 PM on Mondays at the North Webster YMCA.
